Some major things we've accomplished this week include:
1. Occupancy calculations
2. Circulation pattern decisions
3. Incorporating means of egress into the floorplans
We also discussed some important decisions that will need to be made, including:
1. Type of vegetation to be used on the trellises
2. How to relate best to the surrounding cultural environment
3. Exterior building materials: how do we demarcate the individual blocks and use material changes while maintaining an overall cohesiveness?
Going into this week, we have several goals to accomplish.
For the architects, these include:
1. Finishing the structural grid
2. Incorporating windows into the exteriors
3. Selecting final exterior materials
For the interior designers, these include:
1. After the midpoint review, we decided to develop another space. Because of the importance we placed on our "gap" between the pharmacy and our building, we decided that it was important to develop the space immediately adjacent to this area to show our interior/exterior relationship.
2. Make any changes to the floorplan necessitated by the structural grid.
3. Create a free-flow materials board that can be altered as we make more concrete decisions.
Below are photos from our mid-point review.
